Urgent Needs Baskets

You can make a difference in the lives of those Avivo serves by assembling and donating baskets to meet specific needs. Baskets can range from welcome baskets to move-in kits to basic hygiene items, and all make a tremendous difference in someone’s life. If you’re interested in making a difference, please look carefully over the following options to select a basket or kit that matches your interests.

Welcome Baskets

These baskets support program participants in our residential programs with basic necessities. Click the basket type to see full description.

 

Hygiene Kits

These kits will be given to program participants in Avivo programs that include participants in our residential and/or outpatient treatment programs, street outreach, or housing programs. Please consider providing products that can be used for diverse hair types and skin needs. Click the basket type to see full description.

 

Welcome Home Kits

These kits support participants in Avivo’s programs as they transition from homelessness or housing insecurity into permanent housing. Click the basket type to see full description.

 

Other Important Kits

These kits will help participants in Avivo’s programs as they search for and interview for jobs, or might help a program participant who would like to quit smoking or chewing tobacco to reach their goal. Click the basket type to see full description.

 

Welcome Baskets

Adult Welcome Basket

An adult basket will be provided to our adult residential participants. A basket should include: a basket or reusable bag, alarm clock, reusable water bottle, journal, pen(s), adult coloring book, coloring pencils, affirmation cards/cards of encouragement, towel, and washcloth.

Please consider also donating a hygiene kit to accompany the welcome basket.

Children’s Welcome Basket

A children’s basket will be provided to the children of our adult residential participants. These children are on-site with their parent(s) during the treatment process. A basket should include: a basket or tote, coloring book, crayons, and a couple of games or toys.

New Baby Basket

This basket will be provided to expectant or new moms to care for their newborn baby. A basket should include: a diaper bag, newborn or size 1 diapers, wipes, pack of 0-3 month onesies, and diaper cream.

Optional additional items include: Baby carrier, stroller, and car seat.

 

Hygiene Kits

Masculine Hygiene Kit

The products in this kit should be full sized. Kit should include: shower caddie or reusable bag, shampoo, conditioner, soap or body wash, loofa or washcloth, deodorant, comb or pick, lotion, razor, toothbrush, and toothpaste. Please consider providing products that can be used for diverse hair types and skin needs.

Feminine Hygiene Kit

The products in this kit should be full sized. Kit should include: shower caddie or reusable bag, shampoo, conditioner, soap or body wash, loofa or washcloth, deodorant, comb or pick, lotion, razor, toothbrush, and toothpaste. Please consider providing products that can be used for diverse hair types and skin needs.

Gender Neutral Hygiene Kit

The products in this kit should be full sized and unscented. Kit should include: shower caddie or reusable bag, shampoo, conditioner, soap or body wash, loofa or washcloth, deodorant, comb or pick, lotion, razor, toothbrush, and toothpaste. Please consider providing products that can be used for diverse hair types and skin needs.

Travel-Sized Hygiene Kit

The products in this kit should be travel sized. Kit should include: travel case, shampoo, conditioner, soap or body wash, deodorant, comb or pick, lotion, razor, toothbrush, and toothpaste. Please consider providing products that can be used for diverse hair types and skin needs. Optional items include: washcloths, socks, and gloves.

Period Kit

Kit should include travel case, pads, tampons, panty liners, and personal wipes.

Optional additional item includes: underwear.

 

Welcome Home Kits

Home Basics Kits

This kit should include laundry basket, set of sheets (full/queen), bedspread (full/queen), set of pillows, shower curtain and rings, towels, washcloths, toilet paper, and plunger.

Optional additional items include: coffee maker, bathroom rugs, refrigerator magnets, small picture frames, or a gift card to Target or Walmart to purchase necessary items.

Kitchen Essentials Kits


This kit should include sets of four. The kit should include: Plates, bowls, cups, kitchen towels, eating utensils, serving spoons/spatulas, a can opener, and set of pots and pans.

Optional additional items include: placemats, coffee mugs, coffee maker, glass storage & baking containers, or a gift card to Target or Walmart to purchase necessary items.

Cleaning Kits

The kit should include: a trashcan, all-purpose cleaner, Windex, kitchen sponges, dish soap, hand soap, garbage bags, paper towels, a mops or swifter, and a broom.

Optional additional items include: dish rags, toilet brush, toilet bowl cleaner, a vacuum, or a gift card to Target or Walmart to purchase necessary items.

 

Other Important Kits

Job Search Kits

Help our employment services clients land their first job, next job, or their dream job. This kit should include: a 3-ring binder, planner/calendar, notepad or padfolio, pens, and a flash drive.

Snack Packs

Support our program participants by giving them a boost of energy during their sessions. Snacks should come individually wrapped. Suggested snacks will not need to be refrigerated: fruit cups, granola bars, and water bottles.

Quit Kits

Help our program participants quit smoking by providing them with resources and alternatives. Kits should include: plastic straws, sugar free gum, a reusable water bottle, and a fidget toy.
